the three ts of the week (trump, tornadoes, and tracting)

hey all,

this week has been quite the roller coaster as we have been getting closer to the summer.  the weather in our area has been great, although the weather in Appomattox has been less so (see the 2nd t).  we have not been affected much, other than some high winds and rain.  the weather out here is quite nice.  it has been hovering in the 60's for most of the week with a couple of bi-polar days in the mix.

so we went tracting to fill the last hour of our night after a fireside on Sunday and the first door that we knocked on ended up with a man (Randy) who had taken the discussions before and had ended up moving and not seen the missionaries for quite some time.  as we talked and began to teach and testify of the truth of our message he told us that he would like us to come back in two weeks and then asked for a new book of mormon. this was an awesome experience and I can not wait to start teaching him in his home.

other than that it has been pretty calm and I am happy to report 100% commitment here

the future is so bright that I get a headache just looking at it

hey all,

this week has been sort of slow as we got snowed in on monday and we had a lot of cancellations happen but it has been a good week overall as we have been working nonstop to fix what has been broken and have had a blast in the process.

it has been in the 40s and 50s the past few days along with a downpour on sunday so that was interesting and all.  the people are doing great.  we had an intervention with jay ... again as he is still trying his hardest to learn and grow.  (did you know that you can pay the state to become a minister out here?) the ward (still getting re-used to saying that) is doing great.  as we are getting back into the swing of things all of the people that we have been trying to contact and set up appointments with have come out of the woodworks.  as we go on it has been a blessing to teach who we have and has strengthened my testimony of finding while we teach and teaching when we find.

due to severe weather yesterday was canceled ... we apologize for the inconvenience

hey all,

this week has been crazy and all over the place which is one of the reasons that we are emailing and p-daying today.

Anyway all in all I am feeling much better (i meant to put this in the last email but got on a rant and forgot: i had bronchitis)and am having a blast with elders Hartwell and Sorenson. we have finally met with all of the people that are so promising when we got here and they are all amazing.  one person that sticks out the most to me is Sister Schlosser,  she is married to an excommed member and has been investigating for a while.  we have met with her once so far and she is rock solid.  it is just a matter of getting her husband re-baptized because she wants to be baptized on the same day as her husband.  another person we have been seeing is a man named Jay *sighs dramatically* he is ... special, we aren't sure what kind of special but, that is the biggest challenge with him.

the only other thing that really is exciting this week was the fact that we got snowed in ... seriously the snow out here is so slick it is hard to keep in control.  and it was only 4"!  oh well

Ain't nobody got time for this

hey all,

it has been a crazy week.  first off was the incessant need our plans seem to have to fall through X/ it makes for challenging work.  Other than that and a few other things that I won't get into at the moment this week has been good.

the first thing good that has happened is the teaching pool here is quite large and we have had a lot of appointments.  our members seem willing to work and it is an amazing place to be we aren't really tracting this transfer because three makes door approaches super hard and awkward so we just stick to finding formers and less actives, along with sporadic moving services.  last night was by far the hardest to do anything at all (for obvious reasons) and we had multiple plans that we wanted to do not go through for the conspicuous activity that many people wanted to do (which it is beyond me how watching people throwing a ball and each other around can be entertaining)

all in all it has been a really good week.

once upon a trio

hey all,

the past few days have been quite an adventure.  packing was interesting (i managed to get everything).  my new companions are from Sacramento, California and Rigby, Idaho.  they are both awesome and willing to work with all that comes with a trio.  so the last few days have been spent getting to know the area and members and investigators and my new companions (I think dad might have cursed me, because today I got an email from him saying that he had been in a trio in his second area too)  not really much to report by way of investigators and lessons, although it has been a blast.  the members here are just as crazy as the members in Martinsville.
